Apostle Joseph C. Kyles
is the Visionary and Church Planting Pastor of the Promise Church of Chicago also known as the Heirs of the Promise Ministry. After answering his call to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in 1988, Apostle and his Wife Pastor Chrystal got busy assisting in the planting and strengthening of Church across Chicagoland. On a command from God only the couple went back to the neighborhood in which they grew up and planted a New Church without any denominational or financial support. What they like to term as “Church from scratch”.
Apostle is married to Pastor Chrystal Kyles - an ordained Pastor and anointed Woman of God in her own right. He is the father of two daughters and one son; Jessica has an earned master’s degree in psychology, Joslynn is the middle daughter and the latest addition Mr. Kyris Joseph Kyles; Born in July of 2008.
Apostle Kyles is a lifelong resident of the Chicago. He served honorably for six years in the United States Army afterwards he attended Western New Mexico University on scholarship. Apostle Kyles and his wife both entrepreneurs’ developed several businesses, their salon is celebrating 29 years in business. Through these businesses, the Kyles have impacted the lives of numerous people in the Chicagoland area.
Apostle has served alongside of several of our nation’s most prolific leaders. He has been the President/CEO of the 37th ward Pastors Alliance where he worked hand in hand with Bishop Dwight Gunn (Chairman) and the local alderman (Honorable Emma Mitts) to assure the involvement of pastors in the economic development of the community. Of late the Alliance was noted across the nation for being instrumental in bringing the Nation’s first Wal-Mart to an urban city. It was the only Wal-Mart store in an urban city anywhere in the World at the time. It is also the only store with a number of first which have happened, like the first Wal-Mart every built by an African-American female general Contractor and the only Wal-Mart with a local community restaurant inside. There are a list of other first that were negotiated by Apostle Kyles and the Pastors Alliance.
Apostle Kyles has served as a City Commissioner on the 21st Century Commission for the City of Chicago by appointment of Mayor Richard M. Daily. He has also served as a member of the advisory committee for the 2016 Olympic on the workforce development sub-committee. Apostle works even more closely with Alderman Emma Mitts to continue bringing resources to the Austin Community.
Apostle Kyles has also worked with Elder Alvin Bibbs, as a leadership team member in the Chicago Pastors alliance (Willow Creek Association) An Alliance of Pastors from across the Chicagoland area from different denominations’, across ethnic, racial and gender lines. This great organization Specializes in providing pastors with cutting edge information on leadership development and any other assistance for pastors who build bridges inside and outside of their communities.
Having been involved in the development of businesses and churches, Apostle has well-rounded vision of both the spiritual and natural needs of the community. His keen awareness of community and deep love of God and his God's people derive from his upbringing in a Christian family. Apostle was born into a rich legacy and is a third generation pastor. Many may remember his uncle Rev Billy Kyles, who stood with Dr. King on the balcony The day he was assassinated. The Kyles family has always fought for Justice.
After Years of being challenged by the disease (IPF)interstitial pulmonary fibrosis (hardening of the lung tissue) Apostle Kyles was recommended for a lung transplant. The journey for preparation for transplant lasted approximately two years. Never allowing the challenges or discouragement to make them change course the Kyles persevered and on February 6, 2016 Apostle received a double lung transplant after being listed for just eight days. The recovery process was so phenomenal that he returned to preach his returning message on Resurrection Sunday just seven weeks later.
These accomplishments during The past 25 years of this Church are a credit to the leadership of Apostle Joseph C. Kyles. They speak of a man with the vision, wisdom, ability, and most of all, the prayer life to accomplish the mandate God has given him. Apostle is truly a man who was sent by God to help his community recover all.

and her husband Apostle Joseph C. Kyles, together oversee the Promise Church of Chicago also known as Heirs of the Promise Ministry, addressing the needs of people and teaching Victory & Triumph for everyday living is the assignment they have chosen to accept. They are anointed presenters for workshops, seminars, conferences and general services.
Pastor Chrystal as she is affectionately called has a full schedule. She oversees all levels of ministries of the church. By reputation she works effectively on any assignment designated to her. She is an ordained Pastor, teaching ministers, training teachers, leaders, life skills, parenting, marriage, singles, financial and business start-up classes. She has been a successful entrepreneur for more than 37 years.
Pastor Chrystal is a life-long native of Chicago where she attended Mt. Olive M.B. Church under the direction of Rev. James Bass from her childhood. Active since the age of 8 pastor Chrystal has worked in just about every conceivable area in ministry. Apostle and Pastor left Mt. Olive M.B.C. to support the work of a new Church plants. Promised Hope Church and Truth and Deliverance Church where she served as Youth Pastor and restructured the youth ministry that grew from 20 youth to 125 in 9 months.
Pastor Chrystal has had extensive bible and ministry protocol training at Victorious Christian Fellowship School of Ministry, Church Development Strategy training thru Willow Creek Church, Southern Baptist Church Planting Program, and numerous financial planning and grant writing classes.
In 2012 Pastor Chrystal took the reins of the vision her husband had for a school and training center. An organization that is now known as Hope Excel reaching the world. Hope Excel reaching the world now functions as a school with an effective Headstart program, first and second grades, a year-round afterschool program, and a training program for single moms with three or more children.
Pastor Kyles has taken what was once a summer back to school Jam and several weeks of summer programs and turned it into a viable state recognized school and training center with a year-round afterschool program. It is gone from using the churches small outreach budget to having a budget of its own that is now close to a quarter of a million dollars.
Although her schedule is extremely busy pastor Chrystal still finds time to be a wife, a mother of three (ages 30, 11 and 7) an entrepreneur, the executive director and CEO of hope Excel and she can still find time to be married to that awesome man of God Apostle Joseph Kyles.
Through the work of the promised Church and hope Excel reaching the world the city of Chicago is being effectively minister to by this powerful couple, who also lead to healthy marriage network, which is a network of churches working together to make marriages better and stronger through their relationships with God and each other.
Pastor Chrystal is truly anointed and can minister the Word of God effectively and uniquely. She is a mentor to countless women and has never ever abandon her post. When Apostle Kyles was physically challenged and went through a double lung transplant Pastor Chrystal took the reins of the ministry as well as the responsibilities of her household and she never missed a step. She has been a pillar of consistency with the safe Haven program through Chicago public school system and has held the position steadfastly while her husband was away. This is truly a present day Psalms 31 woman.
